A pink-haired force to be reckoned with,Shaaba is an alt-pop songwriter and emerging artist exploring topics of identity and growth to contrastingly happy beats. Her songwriting is recognised for its balance of vulnerability and strength, offering relatability and depth. 

Shaaba writes, records, co-produces and performs in studio and live environments. Her ‘effortless pop’ and ‘fierce yet intricate’ songs have resonated widely, amassing 250K+ followers and 400K+ organic streams with no ad spend. Her recent waterfall release surpassed 116K+ streams this year alone, with her songs championed worldwide, including by BBC Introducing and the Amazing Pop Charts USA. One of Shaaba’s latest singles was selected as BBC Track of the Week, with nationwide radio play. 

Collaboration is a key part of Shaaba’s journey. She was awarded a scholarship placement on the Denmark Street Songwriting Retreat, working alongside Beth Nielsen Chapman and others, took part in a Global Top 40 charting Christmas fundraiser at Abbey Road Studios, and has co-written and co-produced at top studios (The Premises, Eastcote) with notable industry figures including Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse), Joshua Rumble (Florence Welch, Bastille), Olli Daffarn (Birdie), Katie Tavini (Arlo Parks, Rudimental), George Murphy (Ellie Goulding), and more.

Her immersive live loop sets regularly have entire venues singing along, from the St Giles Church Songwriters Showcase in Soho with Graham Gouldman (10cc), to The Queer Escape hosted by BBC’s Melita Dennett. Shaaba also headlined the Help Musician’s Legacy Fundraiser alongside Sally Beamish OBE, performed with Emmy award-winning teams (including in a sauna!), and acted as support for artists around the country. Shaaba is due to help run the She Writes Songs Songwriting Camp, perform at a Crazy Coqs Showcase, and headline at The Kings Place this Summer 2026.

Beyond music, Shaaba hosts the award-nominated podcast, 1 800 Drama, where she continues her commitment to diverse and honest storytelling, and remains a fierce advocate for diverse representation in media, especially as an LGBT+ woman of colour.
